Does anyone know if there are trailangels shuttleing hikers to the southern trailhead? We’re flying in to ft Lauderdale Jan 3rd.

Thanks!

The only option seems to be a very expensive taxi.

Hikers Chuck Norris and Tigger support groups of hikers. They might be able to help you or know who to contact. They have trail journals on this site.

Are you starting from Oasis Ranger station on Tamiami Trail or further south on the loop road? I will probably run into you in a few weeks further north on the trail. I wonder how the water levels are in Big Cypress. apple

Angel Apple, apparently Apple Pie has left the trail to return home for a family emergency.

To answer your question about the water levels, they are a little higher than normal, but too bad. I was at Oasis two weeks ago and hiked a few miles out. According to the FTA Alligator Amblers who maintain the southern section of the trail, the water levels are no a problem.
