phil pepin can do food drops at jo mary rd.
white house landing is a good stop too, keep in mind its a 3/4 mile blue blaze to a lake where theres a sign that tells you explicitly to sound the airhorn once only.they hear it just fine, you just have to wait until they can get to you. nice place to stay, theyre nice people.i had a very nice stay there last august. the burger was awesome.

Pack 5 to 6 days worth of food and do "the 100 mile wilderness as it was meant to be done. Makes all the difference.

See the Longshore house in Monson for a food drop @ KI Rd . Carry 2 days out of Monson, send 3 days to KI Rd if going to Whitehouse Landing, or 5 -6 days if going to Abol Bridge. There u can get what u need to the Big K and eat at restaurant. These r great options for carrying less.

I would be wary of some of the optimistic advice above. It is 69 miles from Monson to White House Landing. From WHL it is an additional 30 miles to Abol Bridge. It is not particulary hard hiking, but base your food on your expected hiking speed, not what someone else has done.
You can resupply at WHL but their stock is limited. You will still have to carry some food from Monson beyond WHL. The 100 Mile Wilderness is to be savored. Don’t hurry to get it over with. We took 7 days to get to WHL and an additional 3 to Abol Bridge.
Just our opinion.

Just stopped in to say Hi to an old friend. Hi Finch! TEN years, man! Love to Judy, too. And Finch lives in Maine, so take it to the bank.

How much food you bring depends on how many miles you hike every day. Three of us ultralight Northbounders did the 100 mile wilderness in about three days. Carrying less weight means you can carry less food.
Also, contrary to what a few other folks said, there are some difficult mountains in Maine. There is plenty to climb outside The Hundred-Mile Wilderness, and inside it there is White Top (or whatever it is called), and south of that, another short range of three to four mountains.
