I found a Garmin GPS between the Bob and Glacier Park. Will release with proper identification and reward.

Sounds like you found San Gabriel’s GPS he lost last week. Check out his journal.

Here’s the link to San Gabriel’s journal entry about losing his GPS:

I’mnot sure I wanna part with it. I checked REI and this unit is worth a few Benjamins. I’m sure San Gaberial can make it through Glacier without it. The Parks are well marked. I’ll think about contacting him.

Bubba, whatever happened to just good old human decency? I wonder which is more important…proper identification or the REWARD?

Bubba, I’m sure you are a great guy and as a fellow long distance hiker I know that most the hikers we meet on the trail are genuinely great people. I would assume that you are one of these people and would only want to do the right thing, which is to be happy to return San Gabriel’s GPS. If you knew him you would know what a great kid he is and that if he were to find a GPS of yours he would send it back in a heart beat never wanting anything in return.
As they say on the trail, “pay it forward”

I’m not sure whos GPS it is. Some Monkey hiker e-mailed me and offered $40.

I didn’t see a reply to my email. I would have at least appreciated a “Nope it wasn’t in that bag and didn’t have that stuff” This isn’t an auction. I did drop a big chunk of change on the one that I lost. If it belongs to somebody else, I just hope it goes to the right owner.

Just funny that two would be lost in the same place… hmm

I hope I found the rightful owner. It turns out I met the owner at a liquor store in Butte. I was talking to the clerk about my hike in Glacier Park and that I found an expensive GPS and a young scruffy looking guy behind me said he lost a GPS close to Glacier. I asked him what did it look like and he said he described it fairly closely and offered an award of buying my liter of Jack Daniels I had in hand for exchange of his GPS back. Naturally I agreed cuz I didnt feel right keeping someones several hundred dollar gadget, nor do I need to have a GPS anyway. So I hope he was honestly the owner. I must say initially he struck me as a gambler or possibly a minor drug addict given his behavior which is common around Butte, but I’d rather not judge too harshly :pimp. So Gabe, I hope your GPS comes back to you too.
