I live in Bennington, VT and just wanted to pass along the news about the “Hiker Bikes”
The folks in Bennington have about 12 bikes in town that are free for hikers to use. Just sign one out and take it. You can have it as long as you want. Just sign it out. This way you can ride to the motel, grocery store, outfitter, resteraunt, whatever.
I hope you folks stop in Bennington. We are good people.

Hiked through Bennington in early May and found the folks in town to be very nice to hikers. I even got a ride back to the trail after we ate and resupplied. Vermont is a small state but they have a big heart when it come to AT hikers. Life is good on the trail…Swamp Dawg

Hikers seem to be using them and enjoying them. Saw a bunch of hikers on them over the weekend.

We ened up in Bennington at the end of Division 1 section hike over memorial day weekend. Got a ride into town from a local and saw some of the parade. Had a few beer at a pub before our ride came. Nice place, great folks.
