Free ride to trail and angels at Lujan

We will be manning an Angel camp this year at Lujan Pass from July 3 to the end of August. It is at the half-way point on the trail a few hours south of Baldy Lake. We can have supplies waiting for you if you drop me a note. We only ask that you reimburse our cost for them. Also, I have space for 2 or maybe three hikers from the Denver Airport to anyplace on the trail from Denver to Creede around July 1. We do not accept donations since we are making the trip anyway. We ask that you confirm your arrival time a few days before you get there. Also, the hikers from last year know I can be talked into making a trip into town when you reach Lujan if you want to hit the reataurants and grocery stores in Gunnison. I have internet and cell at Lujan if you start getting worried that we’re not there. :sunglasses: APPLE and friends

As wandering Bob pointed out, Lujan Pass isnt in the guide. We are about 2 miles north (or east) of 114. We are at the Lujan Pass Trailhead where the trail ends a steep descent and joins a forest road if you are coming from Denver. APPLE

It is described on page 163 of the current guidebook (7th edition revised) as milepoint 17.8 “Lujan Creek Trailhead”.

It can be found on Jonathan Ley’s 2010 CDT map CO-30.gif

It the 2nd star, 2.1 miles northeast of CO 114 (first star), near the south end of CT segment 17.

Don’t you just love how names change?

I sent you an email. I would appreciate holding a re-supply box when I arrive around 8/29. Thanks, Ron
