Frogg Toggs a mess

I bought Frogg Toggs a year ago and took them from Tuolumne Meadows to the Mono Pass exit trail. This year I took them from the Piute Pass trail, down the JMT a ways, and out the Taboose Pass trail. Wore them at camp every night and hiked in them some mornings when cool out.

If you sit or lie on a pine needle or small cone (happens a lot out there) they stick to the Toggs like velcro. When you pull the plant stuff off, some of the fabric fuzz comes with it. After about twelve days total use they are pretty much useless. The seat is about to be a molecule thick.

Anyone else had this experience? Any suggestions for moderately priced replacement wind suit/emergency rain gear? Thanks.

I put 3,500 miles of hard hiking on a pair… they were amazing… only after one full thru hike and half another along with several small trips did they finally give up the ghost… I think I even still have them.

Redledge is great lite cheap rain gear. I gace up on Frogg Toggs and have used the same Redledge jacket for three years and over 2000 miles/ (mostley squahed in my pack.

Thanks for the feedback, folks. I’ve heard mostly good things about Red Ledge and that’s probably what I’ll get.

I still don’t get how after twelve days my Frogg Toggs are shredded in the seat and others, like aswah, go for ever with them. Maybe they don’t ever sit down.
