We have offered snacks and resupplies for thru-hikers for the past 2 years. We’ve moved and will no longer be doing it. While we never listed our service in any trail publication, it seems that folks have heard of us. If you need to resupply at this point, head south on Rt. 42 or right after crossing the stile. Super-Value has a lot, there’s a post office; 8 miles from the trail. The store listed 2 miles north hasn’t been there for 4 or 5 years (thats to the left).

Many thanks to all the folks who stopped by. You blessed our family with your kindness and enthusiasm for the challenge you’ve undertaken. Our children have learned a lot from meeting you all.

Onward!!

God bless,
Anne, for the family

Anne and her family,

In '99, I stopped and sat on the bridge over the creek for the first time admiring the view of the stream going past your ( former ) home and thought how lucky anyone was to live there within that beautiful valley.

Last year, in '00, I sat at the very same tiny bridge and looked at the your home as I hiked into Catawba to meet and date the woman who would forever change my life for the better and pondered if a life with her would be ever so serene as the home I sat on the creek and looked at. It will be.

This year, on a mini-honeymoon in Cawtaba, returning to the place that I first declared my love for my future wife, I took her to VA 42 and parked in front of the trail and we admired the scenery together and dreamed together about our future.

The spot you blessed with you prayers and kindess these last two years has touched me more than you can ever know.

Thank you for your kindess to hikers and strangers, God Bless you and your family, and God’s speed as your life’s journey goes forth to where ever God leads you…

I remember how your family made our Easter Day a memorable day on the trail. It was a somewhat overcast, drab day until we came upon your place and our day brightened significantly. Jiffy Pop! Oh Boy!!! Thanks again!

One of my great trail experiences. After hiking through those hot fields, stopping at your house for ice cream and a cold dring. A real trail pleasure. God Bless

Just wanted to extend my thanks to you. I passed by your house this summer and was a great high point to what had been a rather depressing trip since leaving Pearisburg.

Best of luck to you and your family.

Anne - I remember stopping by your house just like it was yesterday. Our little group of 6 really enjoyed meeting you, talking to your children and just admiring what you were doing. One of the best things about my hike this past year was that it reaffirmed to me how nice people are. You and your family are one of the best examples of that. Thanks so much for your hospitality.

That is unfortunate that you will be moving, after three straight days of rain I was trudging a meal short to reach town and then lo and behold the magical resupply with a lipton. Of course I also had to have a coke and a candybar, I am sorry I missed you but I do appreciate it.

Thanks Pappy
