Any updates on the hiker? I checked with the two people I know are out there right now but they were a little further north and hadn't heard about it.

We hiked up to Blue Mt. shelter on saturday and saw where the rescuers four wheelers came over the other side of the mountian to get in. They used an old timbering road and had to do a lot of chainsawing. We did hear they got them off the mountain and they were treated but no names.
The jounel pages were torn out and there were no tracks of hikers coming in or out, so they must of been stuck there when the storm hit last sunday night.
last entry was stumpknockers on Jan. 6

Thanx for the follow-up Goldberry. Hope the frostbitten hiker is doing okay. I have the greatest respect for rescue workers. When one of my hiking partners broke her wrist on top of Bemis Mountain just north of Andover, Maine last September, I was amazed at the quick and thorough mobilization. We were able to get her most of the way down the mountain ourselves but definitely couldn't have gotten her all the way down without their help as there were several difficult rock walls to descend.
