I got a Pocket Rocket Canister-Mount Stove which is only 3 oz. and i like it BUT>>>>>>>>I’m foreseeing a problem with finding fuel alone the trail. Is it hard to find MSR IsoPro Premium Blended Fuel also the trail. Keep in mind that the 8oz canisters only last 1-2 hours. HELP!!! I’m willing to return the stove if everyone thinks my purchase was a bad choice.

even though the fuel for the rocket is said to only last for 1-2 hours, it should last at least 2-3 weeks min. with cooking 2 hot meals a day. That is saying that your meals are not extensive gormet cooking. You should not have a prob. But if you can still return it, the MSR SuperFly can be used with most types of canisters you can find not just MSR types. And it does not cost that much more that the Pocket Rocket.

Thanks for the advice Ripple. I will return the Pocket Rocket. Just hope the Superfly isn’t too much more money. But i’m sure it’s worth the extra, what good is a stove if you can’t find fuel to run it.

Have one, its super, a small can lasts us three weeks on the AT. Fuel is everywhere and it fits all cans. The other way to go would be a large one. One friend got from Springer to Harpers Ferry on one can and the burner is a little bigger so you won’t get a hot spot on the pot.
