I just got back from a section hike of Springer to Dick’s Creek. The water was fine from Springer to Woody’s Gap. From then on about 50% of the streams were bone dry. I had 2 liter Nalgene containers, plus a 1 gal. collapsible canteen. The last few miles of each day, I filled all where I could. That way I had plenty of water for dinner, breakfast and the first few hours of the next day. I met southbound thru-hikers that said they had water but they too had to work for it.
