What’s the Georgia section like in Fall? Is water a problem? How about hunters? Thanks!

that time of year is great. I hiked it at the end of Oct and first of Nov. Weather was great. chilly (well almost cold) at night. Water wasnt a problem and you get to meet a few south bound thrus finishing up. I highly recommend it.

It is beautiful. Plenty of water. Stay on the trail/shelters and the hunters will not be a problem.

You’ll see a fair amount of hunters (especially if bear season is open), but they are generally tolerant of us hikers. While not overtly friendly, not particularly hostile either. Might want to wear a hunter orange cover over pack while hiking though.
