I will reach georgia pass around june 29th. anyone have latest on snow conditions there this year? GPS needed to find trail, or can it be followed without? How long are stretches of deep snow?
This is my first trip, any help is appreciated.

I expect the west side to still be a significant problem then. The descent to middle fork will probably me difficult bushwacking through deep drifts without benefit of trail.
Two thruhikers here in Breck had to turn around and go back down to Kenosha Pass and hitch around if that tells you anything. In fact, both decided to stop thruhiking.
