Getting back on the trail

I’m very very very excited. I left the trail 2 months ago because of some potential jobs. None worked out and I’ve decided to get back to my thru-hike.

I’m curious, has anyone on the forum ever left the trail for that much time and still completed the trail in the same season? If so what were the challenges you faced? Did you skip ahead or start where you left off. How late did you finish?

I’m actually pretty nervous because I know what to expect from the trail now. Not like when I started at Springer.

Start at Special K and head south. Catch all the fall colors.

I left my 2000 thru due to personal reasons and never went back even though it would have been possible at the time. Now a day never goes by that I don’t wish I went back. I am planning a 2005 thru but it looks like that might not happen. My advice is go back, you won’t be sorry.

Sleepwalker, I agree with Bushwack…Re-start in Maine and head south. I enjoyed reading your journal and hope you will continue when you return to the trail. Seems like you made it to Sam’s Gap and left the trail. I wish you luck.
