I am planning to do the section leading up to Damascus in time for Trail Days. However I still have not figured out how to get back to Brooklyn from Damascus. Any suggestions?

Hike,
Hitch,
ride de bus,
Or even better yet!
Voleenteer to do “HARD CORE” and work with Bob Peoples for a couple of days build/repairing trails at the end of Trail Days. And recieve a cool patch, get fed, and have truly a great experience.
At the end they will *try to get you a ride where you need to go if it is available.
(*try no guarantees)
I know I did in "05
1/4 of the way
I believe that the only way out of Damascus, apart from hitching, is by shuttle run by the outfitters. Contact mro@mtrogersoutfitters.com. Get a ride to either Marion,Va.24354 or Bristol,Tenn. and take the Greyhound.

The Hardcore crew will get hikers back to the trail in the “immediate” vicinity of Kincora. The only way you can find a ride to NYC from there is if another Hardcore worker is going in that direction after it is over. I definitely would NOT use this as your prime source of getting home.
You would be able to get a ride to Marion from Hardcore in order to catch the bus. There is no problem there.

Thanks for the advice all. I feel a lot more at ease about getting home (I just wish I could keep walking) I will contact the Outfitters and look up greyhound prices from Marion.

Im going to pick up the trail about 6days from Damascus and hike in for trail days. I will then drive back to Delaware. If this may be of some help to you call me.

to the other Mahna Mahna, not sure if you got the e-mail I sent but if you are still up for giving me a ride after trail days that would rock. You can get all my contact info off my web site www.craigdilger.com I am planning to make Damascus by Saturday at the latest if I am not too out of shape. I hope to catch up with you at Trail Days.
