I will be arriving in Gainesville GA on March 15th via Amtrak. Is anybody else here planning to start their hike that day? I was looking to split the cost of a shuttle from Gainesville to Amicalola Falls State Park.

Hi, JMT I'm a local for 50 yrs. that tries to give as many folks as possible for free. My nephew was a thru hiker in 2012. I'll check my schedule and see if me can do this. OH Yea the mexican cab co.(for got is name) charges about 75.00 for the ride. Is March 15 diffient? TIM

Tim, I may push the March 15th date back a week or two. Is a weekend date better than a weekday?

Hey JMT2015,
I can help you get to Park from train station. Use me as a back up or as primary; which ever suits you.
I’m avid hiker, live close to both train and park.
I met guys from Northern California on this forum that I picked up at Marta Train and delivered to Park (2012?)…and then hiked with them from top of falls to Springer Mtn. Shelter…it was awesome.
I’m self employed so I can put on calendar and plan for it.

I am most likely flying in to Atlanta on March 22nd. I can take the Greyhound to Gainesville. It arrives there at 6 PM. Anybody willing to do a shuttle to Amicalola Falls SP?
