Getting to Section 6

I plan to hike sections 6-14, starting approx June 25 2011, using the Denver and Pueblo airports.

It looks to be fairly simple to get from US 50 to Pueblo (or vice versa) by hitchhiking, but I’m not seeing how to go between Denver and Kenosha Pass.

I can hike nobo or sobo…just needing ideas for Denver-Kenosha Pass. Suggestions ??

Several options:

Take commercial shuttle service from Denver Airport to Summit county (Breckenridge, Copper Mtn.), and work backwards. Hitching from there to Kenosha might be easier.
(Many people will take CO Hwy 9 South out of Breck heading to Denver, and I am envisioning a kind soul picking you up, and dropping you at Kenosha, which is on the way.)

I might be able to shuttle you to Kenosha Pass if I’m in town. Email if interested. Will need a little gas money to cover this one - a pretty good distance, but will be substantially cheaper than a commercial shuttle.

Many more plausible alternatives, so email if interested.

The Black Hills shuttle will take you from Denver Union Station to Jefferson, CO once a day for $12.25. I suspect a moderate tip to the driver would get you dropped at Kenosha Pass.

Chaffee Shuttle, 719-530-0223, has a shuttle from Salida to Pueblo.
