Anyone have any suggestions on transportation between Miami airport and Loop Road to start the trail?? Have done a search for buslines–no luck. Called Alligator Alley Express–pretty pricey. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Hoping we can start on or about January 4. Thanks

I would suggest a taxi to Monroe Station, which is an abandoned restaurant at one end of Loop Rd. From there, the road is open for another mile, but the road is closed from there on. So, you’ll have to walk along Loop Road to get to the FT.

Correction: As of 3 months ago (the last time I was there), Loop Road was closed to vehicles, but still open to foot traffic.

Billabong, are you sure Loop Road is still closed? I thought that closure was back in 2009/10.
