Getting to Warner Springs

I’m trying to get to Warner Springs on April 17th and was wondering if anyone could offer some advice.

My plan is to fly into San Diego. I understand that there’s a bus, route 892 that goes near Warner Springs.

When I called the Metro office they said the bus doesnt go to Warner Springs but Borrego Springs. Does anyone know if it passes Warner on the way and would stop for me if requested. Any advice would be appreciated.
