During my AT hike I met Bob Peoples who suggested that when I finished hiking that I give back to the trail. Last week I returned from working with the Konnarock Crew. There are 6 crews that work the AT. Crews tackle large-scale projects such as Trail relocations and rehabilitation and bridge and shelter construction. The all-volunteer crews are active from May thru October each year on projects located from ME to GA. Trail Crew projects last for a week or you can do more. It's hard work and you will come away with more respect for the AT maintainers. Service before Self.

Some hikers decide "giving back" is passing out trail magic at road crossing. That is good, but what you are doing is really great. Thanks for making the trail a better footpath that thousands of hikers will appreciate.
