Gold Panning - The Colorado Trail

I am considering a 3day/2nite (or maybe 4d/3n) backpack trip in Colorado. Is anyone aware of a segment of the CT that offers a suitable place for gold panning? If not the CT itself, is there another Colorado hiking location you might recommend? I know there are many commercial places in Colorado to pan, but we would prefer a place where hiking in and out would be required… all part of the experience:)
FYI: We are not experienced panners, it just sounds like a fun add-on to the usual backpacking trip.

Try the Swan River valley between Kenosha Pass and Breckenridge and onwards to Copper Mountain / Camp Hale. That part passes through several old mining districts and there is lots of water. Nice hike as well. You’ll probably get rich.

You may have to change your trail name to “Panner” or “gold miner” or something like that.
