Golite Trek - Appalachian Trail

I’m looking at this backpack to replace the Kelty Red cloud that I have been using (a great pack but 6 # and I need to cut the wt. I was wondering if anyone has used the Trek and if so , what are your pros or cons on it ? I’m going back and try it loaded after Christmas but so far it seems to be the lightest and still be solid enough for me. I can’t handle the straight shoulder carrying packs even tho they are lighter. Any comments will be appreciated.Thanks all and have a great Holiday season. Cowboy

I recommend you choose a pack that meets your needs. The lightest pack may not have enough support or should packing when loaded with food, gear and water. I suggest you choose a pack that will last the who trip. If you start early and need extra warm gear I would use the red cloud and switch to a lighter pack after the smokies. Packs are really a personel choice depending on your hiking style.
