Good meet up spot

For those who have end to end hiked in the past…
My father wants to meet up w/ me for a day hike and a resupply. I want to find a good spot that will
a.) be accessible for him to hike in and out relatively close to the road
b.) not be too difficult…he’s not much of a rugged trail hiker (I’m thinking in the south section)
c.) offer some sort of “goal” ie. vista, view, etc.
Thanks

Stratton Mtn. is a great southern section to day-hike with your dad, the fire tower at the top provides a view - rare in the southern part of the state. Depending on his energy level, he could continue down the mountain with you to the Stratton Pond shelter as there is another trail from the pond back to the road/trailhead. A long loop, but doable - or a nice overnight for him. Great swimming in the pond! Your guide book will give driving direction to the trailhead.

Consider meeting at the Inn at the Long Trail on Route 4. There are loop hikes utilizing the Sherburne Pass Trail and LT both north and south of Rte 4. Deer Leap, right behind the Inn, provides a great vista of the Coolidge Range which includes both Pico and Killington.
