Im looking for a good weekend backpacking trip with a few friends. I have been looking at the Bartram trail and the A.T. What I wanna do is just do a 3 day trip with some camping and etc. I didnt know if the Bartram or A.T. has just like a big looped trail. This will be my first big backpacking adventure! Any suggestions would be amazing.

I am not suggesting a specific route, but I know you can study a couple maps and find/create a loop that you can park and return. I believe you can include BMT and AT in that, or trails in the SMNP. My first backpacking trip was a loop in the Smoky Mountain Nat'l Park in April in 2006 - a small part of it was along the AT. In spring, we decided not to use the AT, therefore leaving camp spaces for thru hikers. I went with an experienced backpacker to find out if I liked it; I loved it. In the SMNP you are to pre-register, so it takes a little planning and deciding whether you wanna hike 9 miles or 14 or whatever; with designated tenting areas, you will probably have a great time. It's not for everybody, but I've been backpacking ever since . . .
