Has anyone had any experience with gossamer gear packs, particularly the G4 ultralight?

Ken and I both used G4’s on the CDT and the AT and thought they were great. We didn’t use the entire capacity except for water carries on the CDT which the packs handled well. The hip belt for both of us is too large at the end of a thru. I seem to be more careful with my gear because Ken’s pack shows lots of abrasion and tiny tears. I am switching to a Mariposa for our next thru because of water bottle accessability with the new small pocket.
Makes sense to me to carry a very light weight pack!

Yes, I used the G4 all last summer. Great pack made by a great guy (Glen VanPeski). Email me if you have specific questions. The major issue, as Marcia says, is filling out the cavernous volume. Glen suggests filling the space with your sleeping bag, but I couldn’t quite break the sleeping-bag-in-stuffsack habit.
