Grand Teton - Appalachian Trail

In August of 2009 I hiked the Teton Crest Trail with my son and two other friends. We started at the south end by taking the ski lift up at Teton Village, then hiked to Marion Lake, where we camped the first night. We then headed north, camping at Death Canyon Shelf, South Cascade canyon, Lake Solitude, and Holly Lake, and ending on the last day at String Lake Trailhead near Jenny Lake. Total mileage is 40, but easily done over 5 days. Plan to pitch camp mid afternoon, because storms move in fast. This is a spectacular hike which should be on every hiker's personal bucket list!

This would probably sound like a fantastic hike if only you'd offered a description and link to journal and photos. And how do we get there from the AT, exactly? C'mon this isn't Craigslist. Expand and expound, minus the generic advertising.

My post was not intended to be "stand alone" but was made in response to a question posed by someone else--When I realized I had not responded in the right place, I reposted in the correct spot. You can see the question and answers at "Grand Teton[week long trek]"
