Does anyone know what ever became of Groundhog, a Northbounder from last year? He was obviously an interesting fellow. I first met him in Catawba, and the last I saw of him was in Duncannon. He was saying he might get off the trail to pick blueberries for a few weeks.

sure, i remember groundhog. the last time i saw him was somewhere in NY, if i remember correctly, and his plan was def. solid to pick berries. good guy though. misunderstood, but he meant well.:evil

Actuaklly on the way back from Maine on a bus, I was waiting at a Bus station and started up a convo with a girl who began telling me of picking blackberries in New Hamp. for the Summer…I told her of a guy I knew who had done the same thing, and low and behold it was Jerry…Groundhog…she even knew he hated cigarettes…that guy gets around!
Last night I saw him was in Vernon NJ.

Groundhog is a true character! Met him the Shenandoahs! The guy never stopped talking about blueberries! Hell, he never stopped talking! Sounds like he made it to pick his beloved berries!

The first time I met Groundhog was in the Smokies. The second sentence he spoke to me was something about aliens and a spaceship dude could tell an interesting story.
