Hello there- Being relatively new to hiking I was wondering if there is a location or posting site where I can find others that are interested in hiking the AT. I think it would probably be good to do my first long distance with another…? Thoughts??

Try your local Trail Maintenance organization. In New England the AMC has many group hikes in the area and can connect you with other like minded individuals. I like to go solo and almost always meet nice and interesting people as I go along.

Warren Doyle has been doing group hikes on the AT for years. Not sure if he is still doing it.

The PATC is planning hikes on the AT just north of the Pen/Mar Line in the Old Forge. July 26th 9am. We are meeting at the Camp Penn parking lot near the Antietam Shelter and Rattlesnake Run Road. We will be hiking the loop to Chimney Rocks. I hope you all live close enough to join us.
