Half gallon debate

Maybe not much of a debate, but if you’ve got nothing else better to do . . .

Who finishes the most half gallons of ice cream - Northbounders, or Southbounders?

Sure, more Northbounders actually take the Half Gallon Challenge but there are figures which I would think favor the Southbounder.

What’s the saying - at the Whites, Northbounders have done %80 of the trail, but only %20 of the work.

Southbounders have, by Pine Grove Furnace State Park, done the same amount of trail but comparitively 4 times as much work.

It seems, according to those figures, that Southbounders should have the larger appetite, and can easily finish off a half gallon.

So, what do you all think?

What do I think? I think you’ve got way too much time on your hands.

NOBOs for sure. First, the store in the park is closed by the time most SOBOs pass through. Second, if a SOBO does catch it while it’s open, it might be too cold to eat that much ice cream. It was wicked cold out the day I considered taking up the challenge (at Green Mtn. General Store), so I ordered some sandwiches and only ate a pint of ice cream.

Gee… when I SOBOed it sure didn’t feel like I was doing any work at all. My bank account confirmed this. I did eat a lot of ice cream though.
