It seems like forever ago that we were on Katahdin. I still miss everyone I hiked with and hope everyone is doing great.

Garlic Man (not Garlin Man)… no disrespect meany, my friend

Aside from a few that I see post on here, do any '02ers continue to read on this site? Any “where are they (or you) now?” updates. I’m still working and playing in NC with hopes of moving out to CO early next year.

Unfortunately, he’ll be completing his triple crown next year. Garlic Man, Trippin’ Ant and Animal got off the trail about 200 miles from Canada. I’m not sure whether it was weather (they had a lot of cold and snow) or injury or both. The only northbounders that finished were Roni and Greg. Several southbounders are still truckin’ though.

Hey 2002 on August 22. I still think about it every day and can’t wait to get out there again some time. On the other side of the country.

Still reading this site almost daily. I get on and take a picture for my screen saver each Monday. I’ve been in touch with Nayber, Big Toe, Tweety, G-Lo, Dirty Bird, Schavez, Digger, and Rooster. Some through email and others over the phone. I live very close to the trail and make it out a few times a year. Summit date was Oct 10th I think, there were about 30 of us. Been doing more Bay fishing than hiking this past year.

Glad you enjoyed the pics I sent today. Think about it every day…every day man. Still playing on the AT in Maine, re-hiked almost 200 miles this summer. :smokin

It’s hard not to think about the Trail all day on your summit anniversary isn’t it? I still follow other journals here from other 02ers and am planning one of my own for the JMT next year.

I’m meeting Now or Never and Polish Ninja around Roan Mtn this weekend and just got off the phone with Southpaw (who just finished the PCT and is getting married in Nov).

Man, I miss it!!!

It’s great to see old names pop up. Yeah BB, when I saw those pics, it took me back and didn’t seem like that long ago. Got a call from Werewolf last night, so he’s still kicking as well.
Cap’n- Roan is a little over 4 hrs from me… I ususlly do my camping, etc around Linville- but not for a while since the “hurricane” hit the area. If you want to try to meet up for some camping/hiking some weekend, lemme know!!
BB- I had no idea you were close to Bean or I would have emailed you when I was in the area this July!! Sorry!

Did anyone hit TDays this past year? If so, how was it?

Yep. Still check the sight out. I just dont talk much because it seems to be the newer members turn to give advice. I miss all the old gang. I dont think I could have picked a better year to hike than with the people that I met. I was going to do the PCT next year (05) but bought a Harley instead. I plan on touring the US of A on it next summer. Should be a blast. Best wishes to all of you. Our extended family of the woods.

Didnt go to Trail days. I didnt think Id know too many people. But I was in Waynesboro last week and I did ride up Skyline Drive.

I check in regularly when I’m not travelling. I summited Katahdin with Mama Said and Daddy Mention.

I just received my copy of 2000 miles to Maine and am looking forward to viewing it.

Many of the hikers I travelled with in ‘02’ seem to have disappeared:- Blaze, Re’al, Bliss, Restless, The Lone Ranger, I, Heavy D, True, 3 Day, Corn Cob, Krankin, Movin, Ishmail, Grinder, Lotto… Where are you people???

Regards, to all ‘02’ ers
