My husband and I will be hiking the Washington section of the PCT late July early August. Can anyone tell me where to get the permit for hiking the section beginning at Stevens Pass and hiking north to Manning Park? Appreciate any help or info anyone can give.

Self register at the trailhead - permits are there for the taking. There’s a box & sign just to the left of the building at the trailhead on the north side of Hwy 2.

Its real wise to get your permit to cross into CA. After many years of limited physical surveillance of the crossing, the Border Patrol has opened a new office in Winthrop to have personnel at various points along the Ca-US Border,or so i was told last year by alocal resident who lives in Winthrop. Also, this section,especially from Rainy to the Border may be real crowded as Backpacker ran an article about it in a regional issue last summer. I hike this section almost every year and last year saw about 3x the usual number of hikers. Also, more packers are using this section. It is a great section that is well maintained. Enjoy
