I’m sort of looking for another mature (older) person interrested in hiking the AT with me. I’m leaving in April or the last week in Mar . My kids would be happier if I wasn’t alone .It doesn’t bother me. I did part of the trail last year . Had to leave because of dental problems.Anyone interrested can contact me for more Bio & info at my e-mail address Thank you. PS. I strongly advise a checkup with your dentist before hiking.

Wow, it seems kinda late to be finding a partner if you’re leaving in 4 weeks. One alternate idea, which may re-assure your kids—there will be a ton of folks leaving in late March and early April, so you’ll hardly be alone; this is the peak time for folks to leave Springer, so there will plenty of folks all around you. This means that in the event of an injury or whatever, help is never far away, and the hikers are always looking out for each other. What I’m saying, I guess, is that if you do end up starting without a partner, you, and your family, shouldn’t be overly concerned; you’ll be with a lot of good folks, and you’ll make a lot of friends very quickly, and before long, you’ll most likely discover that you’re doing just fine with no steady partner, but instead, you’re OK hiking “solo” with lots of other hikers in the area.
