In the last 10 days, in spite of below 0 windchill, we have seen 18 thru hikers and 16 section hikers. 3 of the thru hikers were female. 4 of the section hikers were female. We have not seen a single dog this year; a real oddity. We are just north of Franklin, NC. The first thru hiker we saw was female and she was “officially” the 11th thru hiker to leave Amacalola.
