Hi I'm wondering what people think about the idea of hiking the CT alone.
No companions, no one sending me packages, no GPS, and no phone.
I can’t figure out another way to do it. I don’t have people to hike with, or to send me stuff, and I’ve never had a phone or GPS and I don’t want one.

_NewToThrough_ You should be fine. People have been doing that for years. Never has bother me being without that stuff. It will make you more self reliant.
_Macon Tracks_ I do all my long backpacking trips alone. I prefer it that way. I always meet people along the way and get to set my own pace and schedule. If you are comfortable with your abilities and spending some nights alone in the wilds then go for it.
_Big B_ Ditto to Big B. It is nice to have someone back home for logistics as a back up, though not necessary.
_bowlegs_ No need to have all the electronic stuff. Just make sure you have a map and compass and know how to use them. The CT / Colorado Trail is really well marked and if you have the guidebook or databook, you can pretty much do the whole thing. This was posted in the Appalachian Trail section. But I am taking it that was an error and you really do mean the Colorado Trail / CT.
_Stephen_ I, too, feel you will be fine hiking alone. Everything Big B says applies to me too. Setting my own pace and schedule is the way I like it. I love the solitude of being alone with nature especially at night! I say go for it and don't look back!
