Hiking Now...where?

Where on the PCT would be ideal for hiking right now?

I don’t want to deal with a lot, or any, snow as I dealt with plenty of it in WA and Or before I came home in November.

Im dying to get out for a while…so any suggestions on where I could go in CA and hike with no weather issues, let me know.

Cold I can deal with, I just dont want to post hole all day or have my feet be freezing constantly.

Thanks.

I have business in San Diego in mid-January, and was thinking of doing a couple days from Mexico. Let me know if you’d want to join up and we’d have a car shuttle…

as I have to be in Las Vegas to work on a short film at some point in JAN, and in LA to work on another short film at the end of JAN.

Hiking would be good between all that.

Why not.

A great hike this time is start at the border and go north but instead of going up San Jacinto and Idyllwild is go to the right after Anza and go down Palm Canyon into Palm Springs. (Or follow the ancient PCT over Box Mountian and up the south ridge to Idllwild)It is about a 10 day trip and the area looks different in winter then April…well, what winter we have here. Actually, I have a feeling this will be a mild, sunny winter here, not much fur on the tree squirrels, they have not even hibernated yet, leaves are still hanging on the Apple trees, which means the sap is running a bit still. Probaly a drought year, I went over San Jacinto yesterday , doing the tram to Idllywild, and less then a foot of snow on top of saddle junction. Did lay up a whiskey cache thou…he, he ,he

You could also do Walker Pass south for 100 miles but it is pretty windy this time of year and no one is out. You will see a few people on the other hike.
