First, let me set the record straight, I had read how poorly the staff at Muir Trail Ranch treated hikers and was prepared for the worst. In fact they were very pleasant and the cook prepared my daughter a plate of home cooked chips. In talking with Chris, the cook , he mentioned that he was looking for someone who would work for stay, about 3 hours per day with the chance to hike the rest of the day the second week of September. Work for stay is pretty common on the AT but this is the first opportunity that I’ve seen on the JMT or PCT. If you’re interested, contact Chris at 559-285-0560.
