Hot Springs Shuttle

I am in need a shuttle for 2 next month (Aug). Anyone know who does shuttles in the Hot Springs area?
I want to be able to leave my vehicle and be shuttled to Hwy 40. Is there plenty of water to filter in that area?
Thanks,
Hikerman.

Bluff Mountain Outfitters in Hot Springs runs a very reasonable shuttle service. Their phone number is 828-622-7162. They should also be able to give you current water info.

Hikerman. Sounds like you will be hiking frome Pigeon River back to Hot Springs. I did the exact trip last Spring. You can see my journal about the trip. It is a beautiful section. It is as good as hiking through the Smokeys. There are several options for shuttles. Bluff Mountain Outfitters as Tin Cup suggested. Reeves Church 828-622-7339. Elmer Hall, The Sunnybank Inn 828-622-7621.
Wild Bill’s Shuttle, call Paddler’s Pub for telephone #. Make sure you spent a night on Max Patch. I made a mistake and set up my tent at the base of it. If not at the top set it up a little north of the summit. If you can make it happen you need to stay at Elmer’s Place/The Sunnybank Inn. The cost can be steep around $50, but it is worth it. He has been around since 1975, so you know he must be doing something right. He serves great meals and has a wonderful library upstairs on the AT experience. You can look it up on-line. I think he has every book ever written about the AT. I had a wonderful time at his place. You can park your car in Public Parking by the Railroad tracks or by the trailhead by the Jesiut House. There is room for about 10 cars there. I have parked my car at both places for over 6 days and had no problems. Bilko

I used Bluff Mountain Outfitters. They did a fine job. Very professional. Shy away from Alpine Court Motel. I stayed there and they were less than friendly. Enjoy, it’s a fun trail town!

I just wanted to second the Bluff Mountain shuttle as a great way to go. My husband, myself and another couple did the exact same hike the end of May this year. We used Bluff Mountain to take us back to I-40. Daniel couldn’t have been more helpful or professional…not to mention EXACTLY on time. We’d defintely use them again…and again…and again.

Have a great trip!!

Based on the amount of rain we’ve had, I’d say it should be fine. There aren’t many sources listed in the guidebooks, but we crossed dozens (literally) of streams and rivulets you could filter from. It was absolutely NOT a problem.
