Humphrey's Peak

I just took the AZT alternate up Humprhey’s Peak this weekend. There is barely any snow on the trail at all, just an inch or two of ice in spots. The Weatherford trail going around the top of Inner Basin is snowy all the way to Doyle saddle, but it doesn’t look that bad. I got a good view from the top of Humphrey’s. Doyle saddle is clear of snow and would make an awesome and legal spot to camp. I camped in a good site just off a switchback on the Humprhey’s peak trail at about 10,800 ft, which is really the only good spot on the way up the mountain from Snowbowl. The ski area is open on the weekends currently for leaf peepers. They have a small grill and bar. 928.779.1951 is their number if thru hiking and you want to see if they are open to get water or what not.
Any way just saying it was an awesome weekend hike, the Aspens are beautifully golden right now, and the weather is awesome.

So much wish I was in Flag. Next summer maybe. You’re a lucky hiker to claim that as your home.
