I-AT - Appalachian Trail

Has anyone here thru-hiked the I-AT from Katahdin to Cape Gaspe? I’ve been fantasizing about hiking it. I’m not sure when I’ll next have the free month and a half, but I’d like to hear/read something about it.

Nimblewill Nomad did that hike a few years ago and wrote about it in his book. He hiked from Key West, FL. to Cape Gaspe, Canada. Can’t remembe the name of his book, but you can do a search of his name, and I’m pretty sure that it will pop up.

I just checked the 2003 journals on this site and found “Budderball and Zokwakii’s” I-AT journal. Check it out. I think “Jo-Jo Smiley” made the hike in 2003, also.

Dionalaniz just started the I-AT at Flagg Mountain, AL last week. He’s projecting a finish in about 9 months. Link to his journal/website:

This route sounds really cool. Starts at the very beginning of the Appalachians where they first start rising up from the flatlands, and ends where the Appalachians plunge into the ocean at Forillon National Park. I’ve heard parts of the trail in Canada are really overgrown, however.

Take Five, Nimblewills book is “Ten Million Steps”. Very Awesome book. Also FYI the IAT web site has announced an extension of the trail into New Foundland. Now that is a hike. Can you say Walk on Water. :pimp

I got a signed copy of Nimblewills book, “Ten Million Steps” through my library. No cost and it was relatively fast. About 2 weeks.
