Okay, yes. I know i’m a big dork. But this was really exciting for me. I was in the VA/PA area, and decided to swing by Harpers Ferry, WV. This is a place I have been reading about for about 2 years now. Everytime I read something about the AT, it naturally mentions Harpers Ferry. What a beautiful area. AND i got to meet 3 people who had already hiked that far from Georgia: Soft Serve, Just Ducky, and Snake Charmer. It was so cool be there and to actually SEE white blazes and everything. (sigh) Still have about a year to go. I just can’t wait any longer. That’s it, I’m leaving.

Did you stop in at the ATC Headquarters, C-Giddy? Great folks, wicked good stuff to buy, and you can flip through the album of this year’s ThruHiker polaroids!

C-Gidday was snakecharmer a women in her mid-20s with a dog and an accent like a some sort of valley girl. It would be lovely to know if she was on the trail for her 3rd year.

Like Bilbo said “you have to be careful my boy…you walk out the door and you don’t know where you will end up”

not the same Spike. I’m an AT section hiker, and LT '04 planner, right now.

Read your message C-Giddy about seeing thru-hikers. I am a volunteer with a maintaining club and I love running into the thru-hikers. I have kept a log the last two years and recorded the names of all the thru-hikers I met. I only live about 25 miles south of the A.T. so I get up there pretty frequently, both to hike and offer rides to the hikers. I am proud to say I am a thru-hiker groupie!
