IAT sections - Appalachian Trail

Thanks to all who replied to my questions about the Cohos Trail. Now I’m wondering if anyone could recommend good 1-week or 2-week sections of the IAT?? For example, I’m looking at a section from the Quebec/NB border at Matapedia to St. Marguerite or beyond, or section from Mt. Logan to Mt. Cartier in Parc de la Gaspisie, or both, or something else. But I’ve never been up there before, so it’s all “French” to me. One worry in particular–getting shuttles back to the car. I’ve read about a fellow named LeBlanc in Matapedia who does that; anyone know if he’s still there? Any advice on a great, stress-free week or two in the Canadian woods? Thanks.

the section from amqui to mont st. pierre is what you want.

contact the IAT headquarters at cegep de matane, matane, quebec and they can supply all the info you will need. the contacts used to be viatuer and joceleyne dechamplain, but i have heard that has changed and i don’t know who is in charge. you might want to get in touch with dick anderson, preident of the IAT, he would also be a help in answering your questions. i think you can get in touch with them at www.internationalat.org.

if david leblanc is still in matapedia, he will be a tremendous help. i stayed with his family for ten days in 2003 while awaiting a replacement debit card(long story) he was one of the most gracious people i have ever met. if he can help i’m sure he will.

good luck, email me if you have more questions, it might be a little while before i get back to you, but i’ll try as often as i can.
