Im going to the border tomorrow to start. Anyone know if the snow conditions on the Huachucas warrants an Ice Axe, or should I just bring my instep crampons?

I hiked that section on April 3rd and despite all warnings about snow it was really not bad at all. The only snow problem is between Miller Peak and Bathtub Spring. The illegals (and Guino) have made a path there which is easy to follow. The snow is very compact and I rarely sunk in. When I did, the snow was only knee deep.
