Despite my trailname, I am not from the west and so I am asking a question that I’m sure sounds really stupid to anyone from west of the Mississippi. What is a troll?

Canyonjane, the word “TROLL” is a fishing term. A hook and line is drawn through the water in hopes of luring a fish to take the bait. Many times a poster will pose an odd question to see what kind of response he/she will get. Many times the question will be provacative and argumentive. A person who posts questions such as these is called a “TROLL” because he/she has cast a lure question) in hopes of catching suckers to respond.
Also, the term “TROLL” can refer to the fairy-tale dwarfs that live under bridges, in caves, etc.

Here in Michigan a troll is someone who lives in the lower penninsula - Under the Bridge.
Everyone who lives in the upper pennisula knows this!
Lyle
Boots, thank you for the explanation of “troll.” Fishing is not part of our family activities. I can now see how the word applies to the subject at hand.

Hey Lyle…I live in the lower pennisula, and I WISH I could live outdoors under a bridge! At least that way, I’d be in my tent and cooking w/my cat food can stove! :lol

As much as I love Michigan’s UP, from Pictured Rocks to Tequamenah Falls, from Curtis and the Tally Ho bar to as far over as White Pine, one thing I noticed after hiking some in Georgia and near areas are the similarities …Deliverance style…
Choices may be slim pickings up there, but no matter what, YOUR SISTER IS ALWAYS OFF LIMITS, AS WELL AS COUSINS, AUNTS, ETC !!!
