In search of LT End to End hiking partner

So, after asking the overwhelming majority of my hiking friends if they wanted to come on a blissful 23 day 270 mile trek through the backbone of Vermont, I was turned down time and time again. I have never been on a long distance hike like this before, and would not be comfortable at all doing it myself.

Thus, I am asking the hiking community in general if they would like to join me. I have the basic itinerary set up, with a few minor adjustments to make, and all the other first step work done. So, if you want to or are planning to hike the long trail and want a buddy who has already done the initial processes, drop me an email. My address is gmstone@syr.edu and we can talk some more about it.

I feel like an idiot, but I forgot to mention when I plan on going…

As of this moment, its really up in the air, but it will be in the June-July time frame, basically centered around the 4th of July. If I go in June, I will want to be done before the 4th and if in July, it will be after the 4th.

I am a college student, so hiking in August probably won’t work out because of when the semester starts.

You will not be alone often on the LT in July, especially the first 100 miles (if you’re nobo) on the Appalachian Thru-way. Both times I’ve gone through that section were in mid-late July and there was PLENTY of company. I should be out there again this year, probably in August.

I’m not available to hike but I thought I’d recommend going with your after July 4th idea as the black fly population SHOULD be more dimminished.

I am planning a LT trip the end of August. Will go from Canada to Mass. I plan about 12mpd so about 22 days total (no zeros).

I’m also going E2E SB, but later in the year - sept./oct.
Going with a friend the first few days, bu solo the rest of the way.
I love solitude, but wouldn’t mind sharing a shelter every once in awhile. (but still, zero is far better than 9 or 10…)

going to finish off the top 135 miles this summer, perhaps in August, after the Rutland LT daze, maybe north, maybe south, just may stop in for a spell at a campsite with ya.
