For those that are interested. I saw my ortho today and it looks like I may not need surgery to repair my tendon, however, nerve damage is still up in the air. I guess we all have extra tendons and that is the one I severed. The nerve is another question. He says that is all goes well, I could hit the trail in May some time. Won’t be able to complete my thru hike since I need to be home for periodic appointments. But I will be back out there for some section hiking. Thanks for all the kind words and see you all out there.

I had to go home with severe foot pain due to a sewing needle (long story) after 600 miles. It took me another 2 summers out there but I was able to complete my goal to hike the entire AT. If the will is there you will do it.

Good luck and prayers for a speedy recovery. Sue/HH:girl

I finally had a torn tendon in my arm repaired last November, and it’s at about 90% now. It starts to hurt a little when I ice climb, and the Leki’s aggrivated it some as well. But, I didn’t have any nerve damage, so I was lucky. The body is an amazing thing, you’ll be surprised how fast it’ll heal with the therapy and right attitude, which it sounds like you have. Good luck and if you make it to Maine or NH, look me up.
