I am up to my 26th day of my 1992 thru hike entries. Getting lots of hits, but didn’t put in first photo until today. How do I put on more than one shot per day, and how do I post shots for the previous 25 entries?

Click on Photos->Add. Click the radio button to select your own date for the photos, so they won’t get today’s date. In the directory browser, navigate to your photo directory on your computer and click the square boxes for each photo you want to select. Then click Send to the upper right of your directory tree pane. After they are uploaded, you will be taken to a screen listing all your photos, with dashes for the photo names. Click on the leftmost set of dashes for each photo to edit the caption (and optionally the description) for each photo.

After adding photos for a date, click on Journal->Edit and use the Select Picture pulldown menu to select a picture. You can only have one picture selected for each day, but you can tell people to check out the other pictures for that day, which they can see by clicking on your Photos link to the left of your journal entries.

Leif or Zipdrive didn’t like this for some reason and deleted it, but I see it as humorous and completely innocent so I’m putting it back. Feel free to vote on whether it should be deleted or maintained. Let the people decide on a public forum.

Hit counts are like sacred cows. The masses worship them at their own mortal peril, for on the day of reckoning, nothing matters but having lived the journey righteously. When the old notion of internet fame and glory is at last seen for the graying, wizened emperor without his clothes which surely it is, then and only then may we free ourselves from the tyranny of our own ego, to shoot our computer monitors square in the eye with our muskets of freedom, and to sally forth into a brave new world built on the self-satisfaction of our own meaningful accomplishments. For it was always the devil himself at the switch, playing with numbers, biding his time while we fell servile one bloody hit count at a time.

You CAN have multiple photos in your entries, it just takes some work. In my CDT journal, I did it here:

First, post your journal entry using html format. You can include one of your journal’s photos from the drop down menu. For your second (or third, or fourth…) photo, you will need a web address that’s linked just to that image. Within trailjournals, my signpost image is located here:

http://www.trailgallery.com/photos/11021/tj11021_051611_012240_611184.jpg

What’s getting tricky, is I can no longer find these addresses for all of my journal’s photos. Bummer. No matter, all you’ve got to do is post them somewhere, and just get that link. Like for this photo:

Then you should cut and paste this command into the text of your entry, wherever you’d like the photo:

In between the quotation marks, you should put the address of your photo. It will look like this:

That’ll do it. Let me know how it goes. Happy journaling!

It took my command (twice) and tried to post photos out of it. Oh well, at least you know it works. Now let’s try it another way. The command language is this:

“less than sign”, followed directly by:
img src=""><p
followed directly by greater than sign.

Do you see the quote marks to paste the link into? After it is done, It will read like this:

“less than sign”, followed directly by:
img src=“http://www.trailgallery.com/photos/11021/tj11021_051611_012240_611184.jpg”><p
followed directly by greater than sign.

I hope this works, otherwise it will end up as a sacred cow. Happy hiking!

Well, this is difficult to get trailforums to write this out correctly. Here goes again, I’m just going to use the abbreviations LTS (less than sign) and GTS (greater than sign), so that html doesn’t keep stealing my text. Let’s see:

LTS img src="http://www.trailgallery.com/photos/11021/tj11021_051611_012240_611184.jpg"GTS LTS p GTS
