I’ll blue blaze here for a minute as I’m in one of my MetalHead moods. You kids out there have to be over thirty like me to enjoy this retro flashback. How about what misic is getting us in the mood for our trips? So far it’s going to be the B52’s-Roam, Outfield-All the Love, Elton John-Daniel, I think I cut myself on a macaroni shell. I’m getting blisters in weird places.

Steve Miller Band-Abacadabra I heat up, I can’t cool down. My situation goes round and round. Who did Big Time? Some much larger than life! Excuse me, I have to my funk on.

I have a whole spectrum of stuff. Most of the time I listen to Aaron Copland -The Tender Land, Old America Songs, Symphony #3, Rodeo, and yes, Appalchian Spring (which he did not name). But when I need more of a ‘kick’ to get me goin up a mountain; I usually switch to Kid Rock, AC/DC, Dave Mathews Band, Phish, or the Dead. They call me Cowboy…

I should have picked up the gee’tar. It would be nice to hear some tunes in front of the fire. I camped over at a park by us years ago and a guy who biked down from Columbus played his recorder after dark. Puff the Magic Dragon echoing around the hills was neat.

I have had the best success with the following:

Training: Techno Dance music on the treadmill

Planning: Led Zepplin II and Lenny Kravitz

Organizing stuff: Sara McLaughlin and the Dixie Chicks

Now how can you go from Lenny to the Dixie Chicks? I got my wife to listen to Three Doors Down, Matchbox Twenty and Smashmouth. She’s learning that not all is John Denver and Ace of Base. Three Doors on 11! My windows rattle, more Windex!!
