does anyone know how to upload a picture from an iphone to your trail journal? I can post a journal entry but can't figure out how to post a picture. Please help.

Any good recommendations for a portable battery to use with an iphone while on the trail to do my journal postings.

Not sure how to upload photos, but I use the Mophie Juice Pack as a combo case/extra battery. Bought at REI.

Be careful to get one that fits your version of the iphone, there are slight design differences between Verizon and ATT and others (button placements, etc.

The battery extends the life of the phone by almost 2 and is a pretty rugged case as well.

I ended up putting pictures on flickr and having my husband upload them for me. Or you can do it when you get to a library or other place with computer, if you trust it with your password.

I used a 3G Juice on the trail last year as an external battery pack / recharger and was happy with it.

									Black Cat,

I didn’t find a good way to do that here, as others have stated. However, you can integrate flickr into a blogger (blogspot.com) site through your iphone. This is how I sent daily updates last summer from the PCT. Here’s the short story:

  • I would keep my phone off most of the time.
  • When on, I would put it in airplane mode most of the time. It’s amazing how much longer the battery lasts this way.
  • I would take a single picture and put it in an email with text and then save it as “Draft”.
  • Then, when I had signal (usually in town), I would send all queued drafts to the specified flicrk/blogspot email and it would post the photo to flickr, and BOTH to my blogger site.
  • When I had full internet access in towns, i would manually update trailjournals and simply copy my blogger entries over.
  • I also had a free app on my iphone that when I ran it, it would upload my location to a publicly viewable map online (www.instamapper.com)

Here’s an example:

hope this helps (like diet-y said too, postholer is another great alternative)
