so I am finding lots of info on getting INTO Canada via the PCT, but not OUT OF? I will have my passport for the Greyhound ride into Manning, Do I need to hang on to that to walk back into the US?

I take it you’re hiking sobo. The answer is technically “Yes”, although there is no port of entry at the border monument along the PCT. Nonetheless, I’d hang onto the thing just in case you run into some Homeland Security types. I would expect they conduct random patrols.
Hey, it doesn’t weigh that much and you can safely mail it home from Stehekin.
On the CDT, you have to present your passport at the Goat Haunt Ranger Station which is an official port of entry for walkers.
