Cats being at the shelters. Or would taking care of the cats be inviting a lot more critters to the shelter?

Are all blessed cats good mousers? Or do we wait until starvation evolves them…

Jeezus
Is to carry a mouse trap and use peanut butter if I’m staying in shelters. Some shelters are relatively mouse free. Some I’ve been at were completely overrun by mice. They were In your packs on your sleeping bag etc. At one lean-to that everyone was warning about mice at I got 8 mice in one night. I know that some people probably won’t approve of killing mice but you must remember they would not be there if people didn’t leave food around for them. After they chew some holes your pack or that $100 plus gore tex garment you left a food wrapper in you’ll change your mind.
Cats? I don’t think they would stick around. In Maine where I live the winters or coy dogs would make short work of them too.
