Just wondering if the trail from Harper’s Ferry to Pearisburg is intact after Hurricane Ivan went through. Any news/updates would be welcome. Thanks.

Gigi, I’ve hiked about 22 miles of the southern part of Shenandoah Natl. Park this week and found one tree down across the trail. Other than that lots of leaf litter and twigs knocked off, lots of acorns lying about, which the squirrells love, but nothing serious. Can’t speak for the rest north and south, but suspect conditions to be similar.

Compared to Isabel last year, Ivan was a wimp–at least up here in Shenandoah. I think once you get down into North Carolina, Tennessee, Smokies, Georgia, etc. Ivan did a lot of damage.
